about
Fixation releases new single “Ignore the Disarray”!
The band states;
“This song is about those with a desire to control other people. It's not about religion itself, but about those who use religion or their perception of reality to justify oppression, hate and control.”
With the upcoming release of the new single, their live plans and a debut album in 2023, Fixation is set to take the music scene by storm this year. Fixation's unique blend of electronic elements, stadium rock, and post-metal, combined with their emotionally charged and thought-provoking lyrics creates a rollercoaster of melancholic aggression that leaves audiences wanting more.
The band’s ability to bring together different elements in their music, and to touch on topics that are relatable to many people, makes them a band that can be appreciated by a generation, not just fans of one specific genre. There is no doubt that Fixation is claiming their positions as a rising force in the music scene.
lyrics
Lyrics:
You'd clutch that book to your chest so tight
if just a slip of your tongue was brought to light.
It won't wash away all the sins you hide.
You won't hang if you don't tip the chair.
You kick the dirt in my face, then call me blind.
I've seen the light, it burns my eyes.
If it's a goddamn sin to live my life,
I've seen the light.
Just do what you're told
and we will cleanse your soul.
God loves all his children,
except the heathens who won't obey.
Ignore the disarray,
just bow your head and pray.
We tell no lies, no deception,
but don't ask too many questions if they're not the right ones.
We will strip you down of your character
and rebuild you in our image.
So, you mumble through
a hymn you never cared to
learn the words to,
as you look up at
your whitewashed messiah.
The doves that used to fly
when the belltower chimed
have fallen on the church steps.
Your crucifix has a withered smile.
Ignore the disarray,
just bow your head and pray.

Fixation is a brand-new melodic metalcore band who freely combine electronic elements with stadium rock and metal. Whenever
the music reaches the depths of it’s beautiful and soft vulnerability, you’re abruptly hurled back up again by aggressive riffs and bass lines. The result is compelling and massive music that appeals to a generation rather than to fans of one specific genre....more

Perhaps a softer, more “pop-forward” album compared to Inmazes and Witness however equally as effective. Vola simply know how to make approachable and great music. 8/10 RJ

Every single member of this band is incredibly skilled in their own right, but I love how much they accentuate each other's talents into these masterful tracks. The whole album is excellent. I'm so happy they were finally able to come to my home state and perform.
Incredible band, can't wait to listen to what comes next. quantumquail
